“Mind your mouth.

Words have power to tear down and build up both walls and bridges. “

–From 10 Things I Say to My Son…About His Daddy…On Purpose.

Many of us are familiar with the Name-It-And-Claim-It methodology among this generation of Believers. We confidently put hope and faith behind words that will bring prosperity and gain into our lives and then carelessly use words that curse and tear down others as if they do not come from the same lips and carry the same power. We should always choose words for others as if we are choosing words for ourselves.

James 3:10-12 (NIV) Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sister, can a fig tree bear olives, or grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Prayer: Father, cleanse my heart and make my lips clean. Forgive me for abusing the power of my words. Help me to bring You glory and bless Your people by speaking life and not death, truth and not lies. Thank you for wisdom in using my words. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Stay Wonderful! 🙂
