“Forgive yourself for making mistakes.
It’s more important to be better next time than it is to be sorry this time.”
We often hear people talk about our need to forgive others in order to be in right standing with God, but what about our need to forgive ourselves? When we falsely believe that our failures determine the outcomes of our lives it can be hard to move past our mistakes. Good thing it’s not up to us! My pastor recently said something that offered me a lot of freedom in this area: Relieve yourself of the pressure to be your own hero and believe God to do what you can’t while you do what you can.
Romans 8:1-2 (ESV) There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to forgive myself and rest in Your overwhelming love and forgiveness. Thank You so much for being my hero so that my mistakes do not determine my future. In Jesus Name, Amen!
Stay Wonderful! 🙂
